I have been wanting to get some of our various types of .308/7.62×51 calibers down to the range and get some results on paper to post here on our blog. Yesterday was the day. We enlisted the help of our friend, Detective Tim Riggs who is a SWAT team Sniper Leader and Instructor for our local Police Department, to do the shooting and help keep this official.
(Tim is also on the board at http://www.americansnipers.org. If you are not familiar with this great organization please take the time to check them out. They are actively seeking help to best equip our active US Military Snipers who are in the line of fire overseas. Do your part to keep this Country great, and our Soldiers safe.)
All the groups below were fired from a Remington 700 SWS with a Leupold 3.5×10 rifle scope that was zeroed for Prvi Partizan Match 168grn Boat Tail Hollow Point ammunition. Target distance was 100 yards in 72 degree weather with zero wind.

So what did I buy? My POF .308 rifle LOVES the Radway, and it produces the best groups for me. But I shoot Prvi in my Bolt guns. Please take these results with a grain of salt. Certain gun/barrel combinations are going to perform differently with the same calibers you see above. With a different gun you could get a completely different set of targets. The best way for determining the best ammo for your rifle is to try a little of everything, and see what your rifle likes.
I appreciate your interest and business,
